The Galaxy

Image
Bel Sprinter had a couple of hiccups, when he missed the start by 2 lengths in the Group 1 Galaxy run today at Rosehill Gardens.  Fortunately my new camera and I didn't have any more mix ups in the 2nd Group 1 races of the day, and we performed flawlessly. There are times when you just nail it..  And that's a nice thing.  There are days when this is a nice feeling.  I'd bumped into his young trainer Jason Warren at the airport when Tanya had dropped me back after our Black Caviar photoshoot, and we'd talked about the horse's chances in the Galaxy.  Jason was hoping, and like us all, you could sense that he really wanted it to go well and to get that breakthrough. So it was a nice moment today, even though he did roll my filly Snitzerland.  There's still a link with The Famous Pony because he's by Black Caviar's sire, Bel Esprit.

Cute as a button....

I have a nasty habit of putting invoicing off.  Sometimes it is because I'm finishing the job, sometimes it's because I'm disorganised, and sometimes it's because I get worried whether a client might react to the bill when they see it.   I don't doubt the quality of the work, or what I charge.  Great imagery is absolutely worth getting done, and worth paying for properly as well.  But I was dreading invoicing for a particular shoot.  Then because of a recent event I thought ' why am I putting myself through this??' and thought it would be better to keep my head away from the chopping block.  But this isn't right, so it's going in as it should be, and we'll just see whether I get shouted at.  The pictures were fabulous though, so my hope is there will be no shouting. These babies were cute as buttons.  One of them we just fell in love with.  I love photographing the babies, they were a lot of fun.. ...

Water work for the Famous Pony

The Famous Pony, Black Caviar, spent 5 weeks on the water walker as part of her regular pre-training regime.
